The Catena family has conducted extensive research into the soils and microclimates of Mendoza’s high-altitude wine country in the foothills of the Andes mountains. Their Malbec vineyards, situated at varying elevations, showcase distinct profiles of aromas and flavors. At 3,018 feet, the Angelica vineyard offers ripe plum fruit flavors and a silky texture. The La Pirámide vineyard, at 3,117 feet, is characterized by dark fruit notes and hints of pepper. At 3,593 feet, the Altamira in La Consulta vineyard presents black cherry aromas with excellent structure. Finally, the Adrianna vineyard, located at 4,757 feet, features explosive floral aromatics and a full, concentrated mouthfeel. The combination of these elements results in a wine that possesses unique character, balance, concentration, and a strong varietal identity.
